This additional power means that more grip is needed on the road, so VW installed the latest 4Motion AWD system to improve the Golf R's handling capabilities. The vehicle also features a new torque-vectoring differential in the rear, which serves as the foundation of the Golf R's high-tech handling.
With all these additions, the Golf R rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The Golf R also offers selectable drive modes--Comfort, Sport, Race, Special, Drift, and Individual--that up the fun that this powerful hatchback delivers.
Volkswagen created a sportier aesthetic for the 2022 Golf R, with exclusive bucket seats that are wrapped in Nappa leather and highlighted thanks to the car's ambient light that features over 30 different colors. The configurable Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster adds another layer of tech, and with stainless-steel pedals and carbon-look trim on the dashboard, Volkswagen went for a gutsy and prominent redesign.
The Golf R's infotainment system is powered by a 10.0-inch touchscreen situated in the centre of the dashboard and accessorized by popular content such as a Harman/Kardon premium stereo system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
This next-generation Golf R is built with a collection of intelligent safety and driver assistance features that keep drivers confident on any road.
